We met on June 11, 2022 in Port Severn, ON. True or False: Tessa has to Google “BIP Canada S2 filming” every time people ask us where in Canada we met.






A year and a half later, we’re so excited to most importantly prove reality TV love story nonbelievers wrong and carry out a wedding entirely for show. We barely like each other, but our commitment to the bit matters more.

Much like Tessa’s limited geographical awareness of where she proposed to Joey 13 days after meeting him, our relationship has never been about the where, the when, and definitely not the how. We only entertain the why because of our favorite response to anything always: “Why not?” 




After a quick 13 day courtship, Joey and Tessa both popped the question surrounded by camera men, producers, show-runners, and sound team — an *actual* Bachelor Nation first. 


All jokes aside, we could not have anticipated more validation and reassurance from a very spontaneous proposal and public relationship — from the love and friendship we’ve continued to build, the union of our friends and family, our critters, the roots we’ve planted in both Canada and the States, and our steadfast dedication to always asking “why not?”

We’re so excited to share our love with you all on what will most certainly be a night to remember. Life is long, let’s get after it.
